This looks like oncidium twinkle, but what is it really?

Twinkle the pink profusion one, has more of a waxy reddish center part. The tongue is kind of upside down and much shorter, the whitish areas are much smaller.

It is cute though, and quite a nice price.

I think you might like Coelogyne Unchainled Melody.
It is rather a common hybrid with beautiful white flowers that smell like cat pee, which is why I dumped it although I love the flowers.

By the way, it's interesting how the same scent smells so differently to different noses. lol

I think there's a good amount of variation in the plants too. For instance, I've owned multiple Haraella odorata, which smells like lemons. They all did, but my first one smelled like real, fresh squeezed lemon, while the second one smelled more like lemon scented toilet cleaner. The third one smelled like lemon scented toilet cleaner and cat pee....

I still have it! It's 6 years old now, with something like 30-40 growths (I never divided it). I got it as a small 2 growth mature seedling. It was actually a free plant handed out for free at the door by the Dutch orchid society at their annual show. It puts out 10-15 spikes each blooming, many of them branching, usually in the fall. I often get a smaller blooming in the spring as well. Unfortunately it tends to bloom one side of the plant then the other, since it sits by a window. The chillier side of the plant gets delayed by a few weeks. Next time I should rotate the plant....
Which reminds me that the plant is due for a repot soon...

Wow, oncidiums with that many growths,,,,I can't imagine how one can manage to repot the monster with so many roots.

I never let them go over 10 growths and I still hate repotting them. those roots! Getting the mix in between the roots were nearly impossible!!!

I now mostly have orchids with rather thick roots. easier to deal with.

I'm sure you get amazing fragrant flowers though!

I cheat when repotting my monster, and don't remove the old media when putting it in a bigger pot. It's just impossible, it's a solid ball of roots. I have 'cored'it so to speak, so that the center is a bit hollowed out.

Here is my monster Rosie Sunset.... Photos aren't great, I took them with my phone and it was evening. The monster lives on the windowsill at work.

In the first photo I placed a 40cm ruler (about 15-16 inces) for scale. The second one shows the crazy amount of roots. I can't even see the potting mix anymore. The sides are covered with a thin layer of moss (that spontaneously grew there), and if I peel it back there is the same dense mat of roots as on the underside.

I really need to get this into a bigger pot...
