Default Me too!!

Oh my gosh! I bought the same orchid at TJs a few days ago. The label just said 'Oncidium'. I am new to OB and fairly new to orchid growing (5 months). I have been searching the Internet for the name of this Oncidium. I think it's a Brassisium Spider Star 'Toscana' but I'm not sure cuz there are some subtle differences between my plant and the pic. So This morning I was searching OB for suggestions on ID'ing orchids and found this thread! I'm so excited!!

Your taking about the spider orchid it's a brassia. From what I have seen the Brassisium are a mix of brassia and oncidum . They tent to have shorter pettels the brassia are the true spider plants that have very long pettels.

Here it mine the pellets are so long most were broken and sad looking when I got this plant.

Thanks....that's what mine looks like too. So, It's a Brassia. I'm learning that different orchids have different care requirements. I'll do some research on Brassia/ spider orchids.

This Brassia orchid reblooms quickly and grows vigorously with very little care. Mine blooms twice a year.
