Is this a Cattleya?

Hello Everyone,
I am fairly new here. I am also new to Orchids. I am already addicted. I received my first on Mothers Day, and since have added 5 more (all Phals).

I was give this Orchid by a friend as she was moving. I really am not sure what it is. Maybe Cattleya?
I am enclosing a picture. All of the photos I have seen of them the leaves are standing. These are all flat, but one.
I am hoping someone can help me.

Agreed! You can get a better idea when it blooms. But it will only be an "idea" and not for certain as there are so many Cattleya alliance hybrids.

A Cattleya hybrid, for sure. Probably of the type that would have been called Potinara or Sophrolaeliocattleya (Slc.) back in the 20th century. Even with flowers a positive ID is unlikely. There are just too many similar hybrids. Quite healthy looking, and perfectly normal growth habit for the type, but it probably needs a bit brighter light than it has been getting.
