Default Is this Den Kingianum Album?

I'm almost sure , but not positive.
Bought it as a NOID den at one of our flea markets. It's huge and gorgeous. The pics make the leaves look kind of yellow...they're really not.

It's definitely not D.kingianum alba. Kingianum has a much different plant appearance, tends to throw keikis and has small flowers. This plant is a dendrobium of unknown hybrid origin unrelated to kingianum.

Thanks Phan, I always thought it was a hybrid but then saw a picture of the kingianum album and it looks very much alike, shape and color, along with a bunch of keikis at the bottom.
I appreciate your input

Not even close unfortunately. This an intermediate dendrobium hybrid between the phalaenanthe & spathulata complex of the dendrobium family.

Nope - If the photo is representative of the flower what you have is a hard cane tropical. It could be Dendrobium affine or a hybrid of it. Yes, it is pretty and way better than kingianum in that the flowers last easily twice as long as those of kingianum.

Cheers

Thanks Stephan
I now know that it is a NOID but it's my favorite anyway! This plant just doesn't stop growing and blooming for months and months!

Default Den kingi alba

Hi Susanne.
Sorry to disapoint, but this is not even close. What you have here is a Hard Cane Dendrobium Hybrid with what is possibly Den biggibum var alba and or Den dicuphum in its background. Den kingianum var alba is far smaller in every aspect, the p/bulbs even though tall are very slender and very light green in colour. The flowers are pure white with a yellow callus on the lip,the segments are all triangular in shape as is the outline of the entire flower. At its widest point it would only be 2cm(3/4inch) accross.
Unfortunatly this is not very highly regarded as far as kingi's go in OZ, A lot of line breeding has been done with the different colour forms with some quite spectacular results.
My plant of kingi alba is in spike at the moment when it flowers I will post a photo or two.
Till then Craig

Good onya Craig

I've only ever browsed the subject lines - didn't realise all the replies were "hidden" under the original post until I had a closer look I'm more used to the format at the slipper forums.

Thanks for the welcome Tindo - I tend to lurk mate.

Cheers
Stephan
