The way the p'bulbs look, might be a C. walkeriana cross. Very pretty!

I'm thinking that when I walk out into the room today, this bud will have opened for me... :pray:

The bud opened today and there are problems. I'd like to know what might have caused this and what I can do to avoid it in the future;

First, the petals were overlapped. I had to "nudge" the right one into place. See first thumbnail pic:

Second, in the center, at the bottom of the lip, there's a hard white spot. What could that be? See second thumbnail pic:

The pics don't show the true colors, which are very pretty but they do show the problems

Nah, there's a problem. Maybe not with the shape or color, but that little white spot should not be there.

Yup! It's hard, like a calcium deposit or something.
