any tips for best culture? Currently giving it good sun (right at a big window, getting direct morning sun) and good moisture and feed when in growth. Reducing in winter just to stuff canes shrivelling? Ok?

I agree, Den loddigesii.

As for culture... well I could do with tips as well. I've had one for years and it's struggled for years.

Mine is mounted and does actually seem to be growing since last year, but not sure what I changed from before that. I water regularly because it's mounted even in winter, but definitely a lot less in winter and with no fertilizer in winter.

I found it turned red when light was too high. I keep mine in the greenhouse which gets a min of 5C in the winter and whatever temp it is outside the rest of the time.

mine came to me last summer as two withered shoots and a minimum of leaves. But it did shoot three strong canes and now flowers. Rosie, I have much different culture to you - morning sunny windowsill, minimum winter about 12 and in summer about 18. I do also give winter rest.

It likes it a bit warmer.

Min 55 F (12.8 C).

Does better intermediate to warm growing, not cool to warm. Ideally, no warmer than 90 F (32.2 C). I had the same problem and found out the hard way.

Definitely winter rest. Cannot keep watering during the winter. It will rot.

They go partially deciduous.
