Cymbidium orchid.
Likes a cool winter in order to flower.
I'm not familiar with indoor care for these guys.
If you live in a relatively frost free area you can grow them as a garden plant.
If you have a part sun/part shade area, that would be good for your cymbidium. It loves being outdoors, loves being moist during Spring and Summer. Once the flowers are wilted, remove the spike. Later it will make another pseudobulb, where the next flower spike will come from. Flower spike triggered by cool temps.
If you will grow them indoors, bring them near your window where it can get as much light as it can.
Never tried to grow them in Texas, but here they don't do well in the house, they need more light than we can get in the house, and like more cool weather in the winter.
I protect from frost, but otherwise let it get down to 5C/41F in the winter nights, though this year it only occasionally got that low. Here I keep it in full sun, but we don't get the sun you do, so some shade is probably good.
