Needing a bit of help identifying this !
Default Needing a bit of help identifying this !

Hi
I purchased this a few years ago but lost the tag for it so I have no idea what it is or how to look after it.
It sprouts a new single leaf each year which produces one leaf. The leaf stays around a while then slowly starts to die back and thats it. It's never flowered and have a feeling there's something I need to do with regard to watering that may help things along. It is shooting a new leaf again and would really like to see it flower.
Any help appreciated. Pics attached (hopefully).

Well it's a Dendrobium.........perhaps a species which needs a cool dry dormancy to flower? Sounds like, and looks a bit like my D. aggregatum.

Sjcleveland, as was already speculated it could be a Dendrobium. Your plant is hanging on for dear life! I recommend you take it out of the pot. And plant in smaller bark media. It looks like you give it a lot of water. But the media it is in looks decayed--hence recommendation to replace it with smaller and finer media. I would also use a smaller slotted pot. If it is a Dendrobium, it needs to dry out to almost dry, put in bright light (but not direct sunlight) and keep it in a warm space. Give it plenty of fresh air. Your plant is very strong to have survived this long.

that could be a catasetum, judging from the size of the older bulbs and the new growth. They are generally exiting dormancy round about now. Look on the internet for examples. The leaves are pleated and relatively large. Compare to a dendrobium.
If it is, they require a bit more specialised treatment as you should only begin watering when the roots are 2-3 inches long......in any event that plant does need to be repotted into fresh media.
