Default Another ID needed - possible Cattleya Guarianthe Bowringiana?

Hi guys, anyone able to help with identifying this orchid for me?

The closest have found online is Cattleya Guarianthe Bowringiana.

Is anyone able to confirm this theory? or provide an alternate suggestion?

It looks like bowringeana, but it could be one of several hybrids with bowringeana as a parent.

Yes, looks like the pure species bowringiana to me also. I am far from an expert however.

Mind if I add some pics of a NOID that looks very similar if not identical? Also in flower right now (go southern hemisphere!) I'd call it the same but would love some input.

It has...sheaths?...on the stems that come out in a zig-zag pattern (hence my nickname "zigzag") and very round bases to the stems - the latter I associate with bowringiana.

Second pic is of a division that has already flowered.

I'd love to put a tag on these.

Cheers,
Aus.

My bowringianas do this all the time. I have three varieties, and they all do it for me. I assumed this is normal

So would that make it just a 'Cattleya Bowringiana'?

Any specific things I can look for to tell the difference between the different varieties?

nothing more beyond bloom color, texture, size, shape, and bloom time.

I have a "tipo" and a "black prince" and they always tend to bloom about 2 weeks apart. The tipo is mediocre in all respects, while the black prince is better shape, color, size, texture, etc

(Guarianthe or Cattleya) bowringiana is very likely. I'd be surprised if it is a hybrid. Guarianthe is the accepted genus, but it is still commonly seen as Cattleya.
