Could anyone please tell me what kind of orchid variety this is and if it is hard to grow? I really have only had luck with phalenopsis up to this point
It looks like a Grammatophyllum scriptum var. citrinum.
This is a large plant and easily grow into a large specimen. The spikes can grow up to 4 ft long with 4 inches flowers for up to 50 flowers on each spike.
This needs high humidity, warmth, bright shaded light and lots of water.
You can grow this in a south facing window or you can add supplement lighting if you cannot provide ample light for this plant.
Wow Bud! Thank you! That does look like the right one. I've been obsessed with this orchid for years and have been pouring over sites to try to figure out what kind it is. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me. Next step: to track one down
