Is this a orchid?
Default Is this a orchid?

My mom has had this orchid for 10-15 years. It's grows on a living mango tree in her front yard. I've been trying to grow orchids now and we are trying to figure out what this one is. First post, great forum.

Thanks for the help..
James

Yes it is an orchid; it has been on that growing on that tree for a long time, do you have any pictures of it blooming.

Definitely an orchid, probably Encylcia as suggested, but without flower pictures we can't really be certain. Plenty of old spikes in the pictures. Has no one ever taken pictures of the flowers?

Thanks ... I Googled it and that does seems to be the a good start. I need lots of pictures to ID the ones I have and the ones my mom has. She's good at growing them, but doesn't really know their names....

With no pictures you will have to wait for it to bloom again; but buy the looks of it that should not be a problem.
