I am new to orchids and have recently bought what I believe to be a Dendibrium and a Phal. Both are indoors, in bloom with buds. Indonesia is warm, tropical and humid.
Please help identify what they are to better care for them.
I also have one more question. The Dendibrium has been dropping its young buds , they look yellow. The grower said I have overwatered the plant. Is this true?
Can't say if they're over-watered ... Plants look good.
Are they both in clear pots? If so, what do the roots look like? Do pots drain? What is the potting mix/media? (Bark, moss, other) How often do you water them?
When I got my den. Nobile, it had a good many dropped buds. The cause was moving and handling in a store environment. Now out of its glassine wrapper, no buds are falling. As far as Yellowness, the ideal leaf color is a chartruse green---vey yellow. Since they like nearly full sun, the leaves should be very yellow if treated properly. The will not even bloom if they do not get high light. I don't know if you over watered. I understood dends to be forgiving if in certain classes. Nobile, biggium are included in the class there is a sticky on the dendobium forum regarding classes of dendrobiums.
