Hello!

I have a fairly good idé of what it might be, but after reading the NOID post I'm not that sure anymore.

Hopefully you guys might have a better idé of what it might be!

Im aware that this is not a 100% identification and just speculations.

Oskar

It's hard to get a positive i.d. for hybrid Phals - many look similar to one another ...

That said, there are some distinct ones, so perhaps some members have ideas, at least as far as "it looks like ..."

It's a phal!

Now, there's tons of hybrids of the sort, I wouldn't try to advance a name for it. Sorry.

Thanks you all for your answers!

I know it's almost impossible to give it a correct ID but i find the speculations enjoyable and educational!

I don't know if this is the way to go but in my method of study I've studied the outside colours and then the inside colours of the flower. Minho seems possible since the "inside" aswell as the "outside" match.
(Hope you understand the inside and outside colours, please correct me to the appropriate term. )

Ah! Thats another possible one! I have been wondering if minho princess, or at least a variety, have been the one that is MOST likely (these i found when searching around for different hybrids):

What you have is a very common Phalaenopsis hybrid; I see it every were they sell orchids here in China. And they just refer to it as P. hybrid; some sellers and dealers do try to give it a name but it just a name off the top of their heads.
I have 33 books about many Chinese orchids and none of them has any standard name; all I see for it is P. hybrid. I have to travel south again and every time I travel in china; I have to visit book stores to find new books and information; so maybe one day I will find a correct name for it.
I have a photo in the Social Group area OCRC of China and one photo shows a table full hybrid Phalaenopsis.
You could try the International Phalaenopsis Orchid Society; they might have some information about all these Taiwan hybrids sold with no names.

Thank you! Maybe it's a very well-traveled orchid

I've emailed the IPA and asked them if they had any information on these Taiwan hybrids!

Thank you so much!

Phal New Stripes is a registered name. Is this actually the original cross (mericlone no doubt) or something that just looks like it? No way of knowing, there are quite a few hybrids that look similar, probably a lot more than when this was posted 6 years ago. (So probably no longer relevant) But it does look like the photos of that hybrid as listed in Orchidwiz
