I've never had a Den. so first can someone tell me if this is a Den. for sure, or maybe a Den-Phal? And what care do you think it would need, rest period? Any info would be great. Thanks

It is a Nobile type dendrobium. It is deciduous and loses its leaves every year.

since it is a single cane keeping it alive without leaves will be a matter of luck. If new growth starts it will keep its leaves ont eh new growth and then it can survive. Old canes never get leaves again.

Thanks Jerry. There is a new growth starting at the base so we'll see if it makes it. I found your website very informative also.
