Hello everyone,I found this fellow on a mango tree. From its roots it seems to be like a orchid.Is it really a orchid.

I agree with plumania, the plant looks like a Vanda. I bet some of the blackness is perhaps soot? Or dried mango sap. Mangoes estivate heavy sap.

Orchid for sure, some kind of Vanda relative. Looks beat up but not really unhealthy. Probably not possible to even be sure of genus until it flowers.

It certainly looks like an Vandaceous orchid, but I don't think you can be 100% sure it's even any kind of orchid without seeing a flower (or DNA test).

Orchids are defined by having a fused column instead of pistils and stamen.

Agreed, Vanda alliance, Aeridinae, eventually close to Luisia. There will be more plants, if you take a second look, and possibly you'll find flowers at one time of the year.

Finally got their exact identity,after an extensive digging.
This one is Vanda Spathulata.They are mostly found on mango trees.It is used as an Ayurvedic herb. Its dried flowers are used in the treatment of asthma, depression, as a pacifier and as a liver tonic.
