Another gift from my neighbor. Any ideas?

Note they look more orange than these pics show, here they look more red.

Ada is an oncid type with bright orangey-red flowers, maybe there is some of it in the background of this plant. It's lovely, anyhow

Howdy Laserbeak

Ada does impart orange color, however, it is spidery, and cup shaped both. Google Adaglossa, and Brassada to see what I am talking about.

I believe you have some version of Odontocidium, or Colmanara, or Wilsonara.

Try looking up Odontocidium Catatante 'Pumpkin Patch', which seems the closest to your picture, and your description. It is that pattern, and that loooooong spike, and blossom size, as well as, the plant habit I noticed in your picture.

Hope I have helped.

Rex

Thanks all!

I think this one "Odontocidium Catatante 'Pumpkin Patch'" is it. He actually gave me two plants, and one of them has a spike that hasn't even started flowering yet. He's going away for the holidays.

Any idea if this is something sold often by Trader Joe's? I think that's where he gets most of his orchids.
