Pls help me identify this orchid.

I recently got an orchid from the roof of an old abandoned building. The place was so full that it was falling over from the roof. At that time it was measuring around 2 meters and i had to break it to get it in the car.

I believe its native and its a Cryptopus elatus, but im still not convinced until i see flowers or someone confirms it for me. It has very long thick roots. Can anyone help me in identifying it?

mmm I don't know directly Cryptopus, but seeing pics, this plant looks too big. It remindes me an Arachnis or something similar

thanks sbrofio and bellini girl. i am still unsure, but at least i know i will have beautiful flowers when it blooms. i have moved it to full sun and hope it will bloom soon

Looks more likw a reed stem Epidendrum.

Hi alokj7, based on the roots (proportionally too thick for an Epi), overall habit, and your location my money is on some kind of Angraecoid, but beyond that I don't have a clue. Are there any orchid societies active in your area? Also try posting your question on Orchids Interactive, a smaller forum whose members have a lot of collective expertise with Angraecoid orchids. Good luck and please update us on whatever you find out!
