I thought Fantacy is the most fragrant one. oh, well.
Wow~ $10 each, I would have totally bought them too!
My cheap orchid source had them for $15 each but now they do not carry orchids anymore.
I saw a bunch of white and yellow twinkles at flower district here the other day and they were $25 each.

I had pink profusion and it had no scent. how strange, right?
Again, another reason why you have to buy one in bloom and make sure it has all the qualities you're looking for.

Heck, I may even pick up another Tsiku Margaurite. It has all the fragrance of a sharry baby without the bulk.

Well, I was at Lowe's yesterday and got to watch the garden center gal there unpack her orchid order. I hadn't seen how they shipped orchids to big box stores and was curious and asked if I could watch her open the boxes. While we were chatting, I saw this adorable noid... I loved the blooms. The plant itself is just huge. 8 gorgeous leaves, in almost perfect condition, just one little spot of mechanical damage, but it's the blooms that got me. I actually don't have a ton of pink in my orchid collection. It's mostly yellow and white. I loved the dusky pink with fuchsia spots. It had to be had! So, in spite of the "no more orchids" rule, I brought it home and set it in the dining room, hoping that my husband wouldn't notice, since I have a lot of plants in there anyway.
Yeah, right! LOL!
He's a good sport though. He said, "You're running out of room, dear. You're not going to have space for all the stuff you want to order in the spring." LOL!

You don't have one? The first orchid I ever rebloomed was a miltoniopsis, so I have a soft spot for those. I also think that everyone should try Sharry Baby. It's very fragrant and vigorous, though my brother hates the scent.

Maybe my nose is just more sensitive to certain fragrances? Either way, they are all delightful.
I really love my plants, but I'm such a cheapskate when it comes to purchasing them. In fact, these twinkles are the most expensive plants I have ever purchased. I could have probably got them for cheaper too if I brought one of my parents along. They know the vendors, but my parents don't exactly support my hobby, so I sneak most plants in. I'm very fortunate to have constant access. The San Francisco Flower Mart also has numerous orchid stores at prices meant for resellers, though I'm not able to travel there easily.

I think that's what it is, though there are many Twinkles out there.

Have you posted a picture of your new plant? I read on a forum about one member who would shuffle plants around so that any new plants wouldn't be so obvious. I do that pretty often. I'm pretty much at full capacity, but this spring I will also be expanding the collection.

I have not! I was just thinking I should.
I think my husband would notice, even if I did that. I will say though, I did just get my acrylic nails taken off, the money that I spent doing that, is about what I spend on orchids, so I imagine my husband isn't really concerned about the money. It's more about the space. I'm actually really pleased with this plant though. It's the nicest orchid I've purchased from a big box store.

This kind of makes me sad.... I wish my children would have had a hobby like orchid collecting / growing.

My father does enjoy the plants. My mother, on the other hand, is the one who banned me from buying any new seeds or plants when I lived with her... something about me wasting all my time, money and effort to grow plants that no one else cares about. I'll be hearing that until I become independent.

I bet there are many, many mothers that would be
more than happy if their children "wasted" money, time and effort on plants.
None of my family/friends care about my orchids, but that's ok, I grow them for MY enjoyment.
I hope all your efforts pay off and you are rewarded with lots of flowers!
