Peruvian Andes, blue markings on petals
A friend photographed this near Machupicchu a few years ago. I've never seen true blue on petals before. Any idea what tribe this beauty might be from? Thanks!

Sorry, I'll see if I can fix that. For now, I am able to right-click on the image icon and select "open image in new tab" which takes me to the image residing at: orchid with blue markings on petals, Peruvian Andes | Orchids

Well, that's embarrassing! No lip/column. No wonder ID-ing it was so difficult Thanks!

It should be from Iridaceae family: Neomerica gracilis. Neomerica gracilis - Apostle Plant - Iridaceae

I would say that it is definitely an iris. Many people mistake them for orchids.

Its also called walking iris, as it will produce plantlets from stalks that then bend over and starts a new plant. I have seen them in yellow too but the blue is nice IMO.. Def not cold hardy ,but very easy to propogate and makes a nice houseplant.
