It just doesn't look like an orchid to me.
More like philodendron or pothos, or some other typical tropical houseplant. But, I could be wrong.
Why do you think it is an orchid? Did your friend say what kind of orchid? Do they know anything else about this plant? Things along these lines will help to positively identify your plant.
Add warm water, and swish until it is loosened a bit, and try to pour it out.
However, determined by the size of the opening, most folks find they need to roll it in newspaper, and whap the wrapped glass to break it, and then clean up the mess.
Seriously.
