ID, and recommendations for care ?
Default ID, and recommendations for care ?

I'm not after the exact ID of this one (I'll worry about that if / when it flowers), just after the type of orchid and recommendations for care (what type of potting mix, etc).

There are two plants that look very similar, and are almost vine-like. The pots in the pics are 4". The plants hang over the edge of the pot and dangle down freely. The last few days they seem as though they may be developing roots all up the "cane" or "stem", on the opposite side of the stem to each leaf.

Any guesses would be appreciated !

I'm no expert but I'd say it's some sort of Dendrobium or allied genus too.

Reed-stem Epidendrum for sure

it will bloom in a cluster from the terminal end
it likes cattleya conditions, or brighter
potting size and materials same as cattleya (according to root mass size)
it may keikei from spent bloom stalk
if possible, leave keikei on momma until itself blooms, then break it away for yourself or friends--it will act like a blooming size plant
the bloom stalk may branch, but not always

hope this helps
Rex
