Possible Laelia species? Male
Default Possible Laelia species?

I bought this large ugly thing at an auction in the spring as a NOID Cattelya Hybrid. No one wanted it since all the leaves were so damaged, but I thought of it like a cheap mystery and I figured I wouldn't have any issues tossing it if it didn't flower.

It just flowered this week and to me it looks much closer to a Laelia than anything. This alliance and I don't really get along usually so I don't have much confidence in my ID. What do you think?

Almost impossible to completely rule out a hybrid, but could be species Laelia perrinii (aka Cattleya perrinii of course).

Its a pretty distinctive species, though I was not aware that there was a coerulea!

well I wont put it into judging (not that it would win), but I'll put that on the tag with a question mark to remind me. Thanks everyone!
