Hi folks.

Interesting flower, and I can't be sure the tag hasn't come from another orchid (before it came into my collection). Any ideas? I can't find any "Moore" on RHS and I don't have OrchidWiz.

Cheers,
Aus.

I am pretty sure it looks like Cattleya skinneri fma. alba oculata, today also Guarianthe skinneri. You grow them in the southern hemisphere, so flowering seasons are inverted.

Many thanks, that is extremely close. In looking images of it up I came across a picture of Guarianthe skinneri fma. albescens. There's a pic most of the way down this page on the left:

Goodyera to Habenaria

It has the pinkish blush, and seems to me like a slightly better fit. The only pinkish blush on mine is around the edge of the labellum. I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Cheers,
Aus.

The center of the lip has more intense lilac colours, so we name it oculata. But as for the pinkish blush, your clone can be called albescens oculata. In fact many white varieties produce some colour pigments under intense light conditions.
