Help with identity of this pure white orchid.
I have this pure white orchid.
I used to know the name, but for the life of me I cannot recall or find an identity for it.
It is growing in a hanging basket.
Sorry I cannot post picture at the moment. And have no idea how to point you to my photobucket orchid album.
Hopefully I will be able to add a photo here when Admin ha replied to help me.

Pictures would definitely be of use. Five posts are required before you can post a picture. I hope that helps you.

Can't you please just put in the address to the photobucket album and we'll try to go in an see it there. I'm curious now. I like white orchids.

Great it looks like I can now post a pic.
I did try a few things yesterday but it did not allow me to post the link unless I dropped the first bit of the address.
So decided to not post that.
I hope you do like it! I think it is stunning having a pure white like this.

That is a coelogyne, but lets see if we can narrow it down a bit...
I'd suggest googling coelogyne cristata alba and see if that looks like your plant. Stunning specimen you've got there, by the way. I've always wanted a white coelogyne.

That's it!
Great and thank you, so much. I will go and label it today. And also write on the picture in my album.
This was a shot of it a few years back. It is a lot bigger now, but got abused when it was at another house. It is now back in my care and recovering very well.
The flowers are just starting to open, so will post a new photo soon.
I am only a hobbyist and do not have a hot house. They have to grow outside without to much love and care.
I know I do not have any exotic ones. But have a few of the fragrant orchids. Like the Zygopetalum, which are stunningly fragrant. To almost over powering.
Sorry I cannot send you a cutting. I would do so happily. As I love sharing.

It is absolutely beautiful!! I would say its very special indeed! They do seem to do their best when they are left without too much care, don't they? Lol, its when we start messing with them too regularly that they don't like it!
And, I don't have any exotic ones, either, I don't think most ppl here do, not that it even matters! We just congregate for the love of growing orchids, and helping each other when we can! I hope you stick around! ...We also LOVE to see pictures, so if you've got anymore, you will just have to show us more pics!

Coelogyne cristata forma hololeuca.
Plenty of water while in active growth, loves cooler temps, winter rest, dislikes repotting.
