Ray is right, this jewel orchid is endemic to Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama; in fact it might also be naturally found in your island of Puerto Rico. These are found in lower rainforests hot growing terrestrial or pseudo-lithophyte on rocks, in soil deposits above streams that blooms in late winter to late spring. These are dependent on morning dew in the dry months and the flooding of streams in the monsoon rains. You have the high humidity for this plant just put it in a shady medium light like the Phals….I use medium orchid mix added with a handful of potting soil. weekly weakly fertilizer = lessen the watering and fertilizer according to your Island's dry seasons and monsoon rains to make it bloom well for you.
