I need an ID on this old Cymbidium, which was donated to Clemson University with an orchid collection year's ago. I received a tiny offset after repotting the large orchid and making many divisions. It is a mini, has no fragrance. Anyone know what it is?Unknown Cymbidium-imageuploadedbytapatalk1378741526-135695-jpg

Sorry I can't help, however I'm moved your post from inside the thread about sickies on the 'About this Board' thread as you are very unlikely to get answers there. Hopefully you will get more here.

Thank you. I use an iPad and can't seem to find any way to post a "thread" without hitching it onto someone else's post.

Yes, I use tap a talk. It is the forum that is the problem. IPads don't use URL's, and no icon comes up to post a photo. Also I can't seem to find anywhere to start a thread.

I would suspect that is a flaw in the app. If you were using your mobile safari on your iPad, you would find that iPads DO use URLs and that you can access all of the board's features the way you would from your web browser on your laptop. I do that all the time!

You definately need to use TapaTalk as it's really difficult if you just try and go to the website. If you are using that then I know how to do it on an Android, not sure how similar it is on the iPad. Here is what I would do on Android.

At the top of Tapatalk there is a set of buttons, Latest, Forums, Favorites, PM, More. Choose 'Forums', I don't think you can create threads from the other options.

Choose the forum section you want to post in, then choose the forum you want to post in. You should then have a list of the existing threads in that forum.

On the Android there is a button on the phone (not on the screen) next to the central home button which is for 'menu'. Do you have a similar menu button on the iPad, or some other method of bringing up a menu that is common to all apps? If so press that. There should then be a 'New Topic' button, to create a new thread.

The menu button does not give this option unless you are viewing the threads in a specific forum (as per my instructions above). In the 'Latest' or 'Favorites' you may not see it.

Hope that helps, if not maybe someone with the iPhone version of Tapatalk will be able to help. It's not a fault with the website, as the option is there for the Android Tapatalk. I think it's just a matter of finding where it is on the iPad

TapaTalk doesn't use URL's, so that might be what Myrle means. It makes reading and posting on forums like this from a small screen/touch screen device far easier than in a web-browser.

I know it must have this option, just not entirely sure if it's in the same place as in the Android TapaTalk version as I'm not familiar with iPad or iPhone.

I have no problem navigating this forum from my iPad. iPads aren't small, so I've never seen the need to use an app to view a web page that works perfectly well under Safari on an iPad. If you can't figure out how to do what you need to do with the app, then the app isn't working for you. So, I say that you should just stop using it and try something that does work for you! It will probably make Myrle's life a lot easier in the long run.

Thanks for the info. I'll try to work it out. I have hundreds of orchids, and would like to make a gallery, do more, but have been stymied by the way to do it. I have no trouble with Facebook because they have the word "photo" at the top of the screen and you just touch that and it puts you into your albums, you touch the photo, and it's there. My iPad is the original early version and doesn't have GPS, a camera or any of the newer functions.
