Default Any idea what type this is??

I bought this orchid a couple years ago and this is the first bloom! I love it but have no idea what it is. Any Ideas?

Hi, I'd call it as a variety of Epidendrum.

Wow! Congrats! It looks awesome.

This is a trichoglottis brachiata, also called trichoglottis philippinensis.

Mine is not yet flowering, but I'm crossing fingers and hope it will not be long now. I think the flowers look amazing!

I would love to see a picture of the whole plant if you have one.

I agree with Silje,
It is a trichogglottis philippinensis. I have one also unflowering, but fingered crossed because they a BEAUTIFUL!

I've been told that these plants benefit from 'vanda care'. High light, lots of water. And that they like something to climb on, or at least support it while growing upwards.

How do you grow yours? You obviously cracked the code since it's flowering!

Default full plant picture

I have the orchid just hanging on my fence. It was mounted on what looks like a bundle of twigs. It was a very pleasant surprise when I saw the first bloom. There are three more coming soon too! It has early morning sun and filtered sun through the afternoon. I may give it something better to climb on after this bloom but I am sure living in South FL has more to do with the health of the plant then me!
