This has two spikes in flower and a third on the way. It's great, but the spikes do not seem strong enough to support the weight of the flowers. One bloom is pointing straight down.
It looks very familiar from the 1,000's of orchid pictures I've looked at trying to find names for other plants but I didn't bookmark any of the images as I hadn't seen this in bloom when I was going through them.
I am actually cutting the pair that need support today - gift for the wife of a friend who's having a baby shower - or I would have given it some support.
Dang it!!! It's another piece of BLC Memoria Crispin Rosales! Or maybe "YAY, I've got a name for it!!!"
I'd have thought I had enough pieces of that to recognise it. Sorry all, have been sorting out my remaining photos since my hard drive collapsed and have just worked this one out. I think... Have a bunch more pics of it, most from labelled plants.
Is it perhaps a lueddemanniana? Or at least a hybrid with it in the parentage?
I'm don't know. It's only a suggestion if the flowers are that big and the color scheme fits. The lip might be a bit off. The shape looks...pretty close.
Well...here are some pics from tagged mem Crispin Rosales' from my collection of pics. I think they are spot on with the pictured plant - peas in the pod and so on. So I suspect the previous collection owners' just failed to tag some divisions. I'm happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.
