Bright orange mini cattleya
I found the most perfect orange cattleya on flickr, identified only as mini cattleya bright orange. Anyone recognize it, own it, want to ship it to me?

Looks like a hybrid of C. aurantiaca. It could be aurantiaca itself, but no way to know for sure.

I don't think it's aurantiaca itself. That is the orchid highest on my wishlist at the moment and it has turned out to be a bit of a challenge to get hold of...buuuut, long story short, the cattleya (now guarianthe) aurantiaca has a differently shaped lip and it should also (normally) have some drawings or spots on the lip.

If it isn't Trick or Treat - it's very similar, and perhaps will do for the OP

I see a lot of catts that are orange/red or peach, but few that are this bright brilliant orange. I'm on a mission now. Another one.
thanks for the replies, all!

I ran into the Guarianthe/aurantiaca what ever they call it now yesterday while looking up catts. Dumb me I didn't write it down and then remembered this thread. I looked it up in my orchid book and it says intensely bright flower color.
However I agree with Silji that it has red speckles on it and the one you showed didn't. But if you want I will try and find the what ever and tell which place was selling it if you would like. I am sure it was a place I have on bookmarks.
