Phalaenopsis or Doritaenopsis?? Male
Question Phalaenopsis or Doritaenopsis??

Heyy ^__^

Back in March I bought a, what I believe was a Phal. but upon looking through an orchid encyclopedia I found a pic similar to the one I have. Dtps. Leopard Prince
Mine doesn't look as heavily patterned as the on in the book.
Could this be true??
Or am I thinking wrong??

Doritaenopsis are hybrids of Phalaenopsis and Doritis. Doritis as a genus no longer exists having been reclassified as Phalaenopsis, so Doritaenopsis and Phalaenopsis are one and the same.

It's possible your plant is Leopard Prince ... but with so many Phal hybrids, it would be impossible to be absolutely certain.

It's lovely btw

Thank you for the info.

And thank you ^_^ this is the one I call Tiger. He has more flowers coming and what I think is a keiki on one of the spikes.

Thanks again.

I hate to say it but it was one of thoes Just Add Ice orchids from Walmart. I fell in love with it the moment I saw it and it still producing flowers and growing very fast. I might have to repot it in the spring.
