Help with Tagless Orphan...
Hey All-
I bought this little guy with no tag. It's a small compact plant that looks like a ascacenda. I'm sorry the pic doesn't show the plant, but it is a strap-leaf.
Thanks for your help!
Brian

I sure would like to know what this is so that I can get one for myself! From its airy, open form, I'm guessing this may be Mokara (Arachnis x Vanda x Ascocentrum). Mokara is popular as a cut flower because of the long inflorescence that gets itself well above the foliage. The rich blue color and petals that twist 90 degrees remind me of V. coerulea.
What size are the flowers? Is it fragrant? Is color consistent on all segments?
Where did you find this jewel?

It is neat how the pedals twist. They have a slight fragrance, and the flowers are about the silver dollar size- maybe a little bigger. It's very pretty....
I bought it at a grower in Lantana, Florida called Mary's Orchids. To my knowledge they are not online.
Thanks
Brian
