A friend of mine was visiting the Princess of Wales Conservatory a few days back, and took a ton of pictures of their orchid collection. One in particular caught my eye, and I'd love to know what kind it is. I very much would like to get my hands on one if she can't get one sent back to the US for me, and knowing the name would help me track one down.

Thanks in advance for the help!

That is a great pic of a blue-Vanda type orchid. I don't really grow these, so not sure of the name or exact parentage, but look up Vanda coerulea and you will see something comparable - It looks like a hybrid to me due to the round shape and distinct flower patterning, and there are a ton of Vanda, Asconopsis, etc., coming out of Asia at any given time, so you should be able to locate something very close - with no exact name, the best anyone can do is give a good guess - that's the bane of NoIDs.
Hope this helps!
Steve

The best bet is to try "blue vandaceous orchid" in your web browser search and then switch to images. I'm sure you'll be able to find something close to your photo that you like.

I actually found it through another forum. Its a Vanda Sansai Blue. I'm planning on getting myself one on Sunday when I stop by my (semi) local Orchid center.
