Dorit. pulchurrima? Male
Default Dorit. pulchurrima?

I bought this years ago from Borland Greenhouses in/near Cleveland and have always wondered if it was correctly labeled. There seem to be a number of things that look similar to this including some Phals. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the link, Bill. I guess the striations on the lip and the wings on either side do resemble (now) Phal. pulcherrima. The photo that shows the foliage also supports this, as it is very upright and the roots have a tendency to emerge from the stem above the potting medium.

Mine doesn't bloom as many flowers at once as those pictured. I think this is due to lack of humidity, since I'm a windowsill grower and they always begin to bloom in winter when I have trouble keeping the humidity up. I always have buds blasting, especially the first ones on the spike.
