Schoenorchis Fragrans is a vanda type leaf that is epi porpax however it can be alba(green flower) or non alba(maroon flower) and you have a bit before that little one blooms. mount it and mist dailey and one day it will suprize you.

I don't think it's Epi porpax either. The Epi has rather long internodes, while the mysterious plants have extremely compact and near inexistant internodes.

Wow - you guys are sooooo good. I have avoided minis, thinking my eyesight was not good enough to enjoy, but a magnifying glass brings out a whole new world sometimes!!
Thanks for the suggestions - I thought I had it ID'ed as Epi. Schlechterianum, but have since seen several Epi. and others that it could be.
Camille - your eyesight is very good to be looking at the nodes and such - again - WOW!
By the way - in case you did not catch my post - I did mount them and have posted pics in the 'mounted' section about a week ago. They are still doing fine - not a lot of movement yet, but I know to wait as their development will be micro also.

Well at least you have it narrowed down to likely being an Epi of some sort! All you need is blooms now, to make a proper identification.

This is totally unrelated, but everytime I see the title of your thread, I laugh. For me the first thing that comes to mind is that an Orc is a giant ugly filthy creature that lives in Middle Earth!

Camille:
AAAAHHHHH, another Tolkien fan - yes, I have had the same thoughts myself!! But in some ways, Orcs and Orchids are similar - WHen you think you've got all of them they just keep coming, many of them stink, they force their way into and take over your house, steal your money, and wreck your life in general if you let them!!! But we just keep comiong back for more - It's a battle we will all be fighting until we pass I think!
I still am not sure about the Epi. part as I just saw a mini-Dendrobium that looks suspiciously like this little one. I think I will have to wait for it to bloom, as I am just not good enough to ID it by the stem, leaves, nodes, etc. - and Epi. Sclechterianum has an odd little bloom that should be enough to provide an ID if that is what it is.
Have you ever gone to the Internet Orchid Species Photo Encyclopedia? I have found the photos are great and often they provide pics of flower, plant and in-situ plants, along with native country, altitude, and basic culture of the species. I have found it very helpful IF YOU KNOW THE BASIC NAME OF THE PLANT, such as Epidendrum, Cattleya, etc. - it is a HUGE resource and to think about just browsing through the whole thing in order to ID something is next to impossible (I've tried it). But, it is always an enjoyable browse.
Have a great day - And enjoy our orc's!!!

I know IOSPE and use it a lot, particularily when researching plants for OB projects, but I also have Orchidwiz, which is even better! The only downside is that there are not photos for every orchid, though it improves with every update. They're getting there though, 112000 images and counting. I didn't think to try looking up your plant there. I'm not too sure that it's Dendrobium, but it's worth looking at too.
