New NOID Orchid? Coconut cream pie? Male
Default New NOID Orchid? Coconut cream pie?

So... I saw this Orchid hanging in my local nursery.
Normally I don't buy orchids from them add the majority of their flowers are the same NOID phals and oncidiums I see everywhere. But for $20 more..
This guy was hanging out on the clearance rack. Marked down to $10...
No idea what it is... the back had coconut cream pie written on it in sharpie...
Any leads? Basic care?

My guess would be maxillaria tenuifolia - known for it's strong coconut fragrance https://www.google.com/search?q=maxi...w=1280&bih=685

I'll add my vote for Max tenuifolia. It's definitely a Maxillaria and as tenuifolia is associated with coconut it's very likely to be that, or a closely related hybrid.

Cool... this has got to be one of the more exotic looking orchids I own.
It's very exciting...

I agree with the others. I have one that looks just like that. I cannot wait for it to bloom.
