Not weird at all. As Rosie suggested, if you've got thousands of seedlings on the bench, why waste the time and expense retagging them?
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd bet most of us would simply check, then change it ourselves.

At least it's just the genus name has changed. I have a plant tagged Brassadastele Senne Orange. Besides the Brassadastele now being wrong (I forget what it is now!) it's actually registered as Senne Stern. And I got it off the registrant.... I can only assume it has 'orange' on the tag as a reminder that it's expected to bloom at least partially orange.

OK, folks, I give up. Island Girl, Rsc. [Pot.] Little Toshie x Rsc. [Blc.] Goldenzelle, Fender’s Flora is right from the 3rd qtr 2007 registration list. In my defense, when I was at Fenders in April of 2008 I bought 50 or so seedlings of 5 each plus some mature plants. I even posted that info in this board. In my conversation with Susan I was let to believe that none of these crosses had yet been registered and that they were waiting to see what would develop. I was invited to send pictures of especially great looking blooms for possible registration by me or them. I was then complimented on some of the shots I sent them but nothing further developed out of that. I subsequently had a great die off in my early years from rot and who knows what but have cured those problems now with new media and better rain protection and water quality. Lots of beginner problems had to be resolved. Anyway, I now have lots of fine orchids among all those survivors of my past. I will now make new labels for my Rsc. Island Girl orchids. They really are pretty.

Carrie, quite frankly it's such a hassle here to reduce these pics to miniature size. I regularly post on facebook under Tropical Delights where I can share all my wonderful tropicals including my hundreds of bromeliads. BTW Fenders also registered another (and possibly more) of those seedlings I bought. Chia Pet Rsc. [Blc.] Chia Lin x Rsc. [Pot.] Beaufort Gold Fender’s Flora - I guess everyone was right in that they didn't want to make new labels. :-) Let's see if I can put a link to one shot here. Facebook

Carrie,
I think it's part of the group specs that limits outside entry. I guess one needs to join it first. It's marked secret. Let me see if I have anything in my own postings outside of that group. Try this under my name: New today | Facebook

It's absolutely gorgeous. Your plant is name Rlc. (Pot.) Chia Pet and was again registered in 2007 by Fender's Flora.

Yupp, but as Rhynchosophrocattleya Chia Pet or Rsc. - I know, it takes some getting used to with these new names.
I already changed the labels.
