What is happening to my orchid!? Female
Default What is happening to my orchid!?

Shortly after the last flower fell on my Phal. A new bud formed along with a small Keike on the stem. All of the sudden the bud opened a bit, to reveal what looks like a pollen sack. I dont really know whats going on... any suggestions?
Thanks, Jax

I dont know, is your plants stem growing. I have never seen a phals stem grow after it has bloomed I cut the stem off, but I have heard that if you do not cut the stem off after it blooms it will grow longer.

That's interesting, I've heard of one last bud forming after the other flowers have fallen off. Maybe this one is just a deformed one...

I would watch it and wait. I had my phal bloom and when the old flowers were about 2 weeks from falling off, I have 4 more flowers. Love it! I brag about it all the time.

It is a deformed flower. Not an issue.
