Default Brassavola hybrid

Not my plant, nor do I know the owner, just interested in any ideas since I took the photo. The plant probably has a name but I didn't get it since the photo was taken at a show:

Looks like B. nodosa x C. purpurata. Isn't that Bc. Morning Glory? Not at my computer or OrchidWiz.

That's what I had written down, but I had another plant with the same name that was quite different and thought I had made a mistake.

Definitely Morning Glory. If the red fades more quickly than normal it my be Morning Glory crossed back with nodosa, which is Bl. (Bc. now) Wonderstar.

I was admiring this one in the show photos you posted. I love the lip!

B. nodosa gives such spectacular lips in all its hybrids that I would willing grow them alone.

I had one once but I killed it. I never got it into bloom. There is usually a nice fragrance as well.

That's another benefit of the B. nodosa parent!

You are probably aware of this site, but just in case you are not: Allen Black Orchid Photo Page Home - Brassavola

Allen Black seems to be quite the specialist in Brassavola hybrids.
