Help! What kind of Odontoglossum?

A month ago I bought this strange looking orchid from Trader Joes. Recently her petals began dying, drying out and the stem turned yellow.

I decided to try and identify her, figuring orchid care isn't "one size fits all" and the instructions on the tag were actually killing my plant.

I've narrowed it down to Odontoglossum, possibly Cordatum....
My plant's petals were actually very long, very thin, pointed.
The toungue-like petal at center bottom is not short and heart shaped, but rather extended.
Also the petals are not rubbery, they feel like normal petals.

I greatly appreciate your bestowal of orchid wisdom unto me! If you have one like this of your own, how do you care for it?

might be Miltassia Shelob https://www.google.com/search?q=milt...w=1280&bih=685- or other Miltassia (Miltonia x Brassia) - definitely Brassia or Brassia cross
(both Brassia and Miltonia are in the Oncidium/Odontoglossum alliance)

the blooms may have simply be finished - how does the plant look over-all?

Moderately bright light, intermediate temperatures, water when potting media is just approaching dry

Thank you, that is exactly it! Good to know, I haven't been watering it right. The instructions said to use an ice cube...which may have been too cold and not enough.

The leaves seem just fine, colored bright and upright.

ah- if the plant looks good, I don't think you did any harm to it, and the blooms either withered from age, or change of environment - but, most do not recommend the ice cube watering - run water well thru the potting media, then let the media approach being dry before watering the same way again
