Default catasetum

i have what apears to be something in the catasetum family...it is currantly leafless and has no flowers or id tag there are 4 bulbs ranging in size from about 3 inches tall for the oldest bulb to about 7 inches on the largest and newest bulb, the newest bulb is about 3 inches thick...the roots look healthy and alive in the pot and the all bulbs are nice and hard with no cracking or shriveling, and covered with the typical papery sheaths...these bulbs seem much shorter and stouter compared to other catasetums and cynoches that ive seen,...

does anyone have any guess what genus this belongs to? i dont expect an exact id...was just wondering if the size and shape of the bulbs are indicative of specific genus or are they pretty variable...the grower wasnt sure but thought it was a catasetum hybred with catasetum tenebrosum as one of its parents....he let me have it for 15 bucks as a noid

Definitely in the catasetum alliance. Can't help any more without flowers.

yeah,..the guy i bought from told me to take a photo of the flowers when it blooms and he can definately id it....i figured that would be the case
but the other catesetums he had, had longer more narrow pseudobulbs. and his cycnoches were about ready to bloom and all had thier leaves still, and they also had longer narrow pbulbs..this one stuck out at me because of how thick and stout the bulbs are compared to the others. oh well i guess ill have to wait and see.
