Question Unidentified flower from Cuyabeno Reserve, Ecuador

I photographed this lovely specimen found growing along the river's edge of the Cuyabeno River in the lowland rainforest in the east of Ecuador. The second photo is the river itself, to show the habitat in which the orchid was found.

Can anyone help with an ID? Thank you!

Sorry, I couldn't get any closer! But that's a great help on the ID. Thank you.

However, just checking online, the Wikipedia entry indicates that E. radicans is a "ground-rooting orchid" whereas this specimen is definitely epiphytic. Also, it refers to the range as "middle elevations in Central America." This was lowland tropical forest in eastern Ecuador (equatorial South America). Good idea. How about Epidendrum schomburgkii? Range is right, and inflorescence looks right... Epidendrum pitanga & Epidendrum schomburgkii

I've seen these before growing in gardens in S. California & Hawaii. They are called reed stem/type of epidendrum. BettyE

Thank you BettyE. Do you recall the Epidendrum species? It would be great to identify this to species!
