Unidentified flower from Cuyabeno Reserve, Ecuador
I photographed this lovely specimen found growing along the river's edge of the Cuyabeno River in the lowland rainforest in the east of Ecuador. The second photo is the river itself, to show the habitat in which the orchid was found.

However, just checking online, the Wikipedia entry indicates that E. radicans is a "ground-rooting orchid" whereas this specimen is definitely epiphytic. Also, it refers to the range as "middle elevations in Central America." This was lowland tropical forest in eastern Ecuador (equatorial South America).
