Weed or Orchid? Male
Default Weed or Orchid?

In this pot I supposedly have Calapogan tuberosus (sp?) and the Egret orchid. But the round leaves of two of them dont match my understanding of what the leaves are supposed to look like for either. Is this a weed?

I've seen those before, but never found out what they are. Definitely not and egret orchid.

the grass-like leaves could be the Habenaria, the other thing is a weed

This is what I found:

Calopogon tuberosus

White Egret Orchid - Other Flower Bulbs & Tubers - Thompson & Morgan

that heart shaped textured leaf is something else = not an orchid

both orchids you mentioned have reedlike leaf and slender stems

There's no such thing as a weed. It's just a word for a perfectly good plant in the wrong place *G*

Those look a bit like what we in the UK call Dead Nettle. (Called that because it looks a lot like stinging nettles, but doesn't sting). It doesn't look exactly like that... but if it's something similar they can create attractive clumps with white or purple flowers. Or it looks a little like mint. Again I don't think so, but there's lots of kind of mint, so squashing a leaf and sniffing it would rule that out!

(I don't know US wild plants of course...)
