This is my first post so please forgive any mistakes. I have decided its time to get a little more serious with my orchids and so have joined your community for some help.
I was wondering if anyone could help me identify this deep pink soft cane dendrobium.
I believe it is a Dendrobium Nobile but am having trouble identifying its correct name, Its colouring is like Den Star Saphire but many of the pictures of this have a crinkled sepals and labelum. It also has similar colouring to Den Swallow x yukidarima King however the throat is not as light (this may just be the light difference of the the photos)
Appreciate any help you can give me even if this is redirecting me to an appropriate resource for further resarch.
I can't help you with identification. Usually, if the plant does't have an tag with its name, it's a NOID. And there is nothing wrong with NOID's! Yours has a very pretty flower.
But maybe someone more experienced will be able to identify your Den.
After I posted I read the thread Why a NoID was a NoID by RosieC. Up until then I had never heard of a NoID. It certainly makes sense.
I liked RosieC's approach of marking the plant as a NoID because you can probably never truly know of the plants name. I am hoping to get a little closer so that I may be able to describe this Den as a NoID but similar to such and such rather than just calling it Deep Pink Dendrobium from Marcia - my dear old mum.
