Cattleytonia Why Not
Here's a little cutie for ya'll. Cattleytonia Why Not. I have it mounted on a bunh of old roots from about 6 different orchids that havebeen mounted on this same bunch of roots for quite a few years now. I think there is a piece of old cork under there some where. The first 3 orchids mounted on this were Encyclia Citrina but they all went to orchid heaven when I moved up here to north San Diego county. Flowers every year. I have included some pictures of the mount itself. Well maybe it shouldn't be called a mount as it is nearly all roots. Old and new.

Beautiful! Mine is also blooming. I think this is one every grower/hobbyist/collector should have. It's small, it's very forgiving, and it's RED!

I have a couple hanging around and they are quite reliable. Last year I had 15 flowers on this. This is the first bloom this year with 4 more shoots to go. One of my first orchids I ever bought. The other one has lost it's tag somewhere along the line and hasn't bloomed sinceI took it off the tree a few years back. LC Orange Nugget. Hope it comes back.

'Why not' is a great little orchid. I put off buying one because they're so common here in South Florida. I finally picked one up at an orchid society meeting and I'm glad I did. It's a strong growing plant and a very reliable bloomer. The psuedobulbs don't all bloom at the same time so I get flowers for several months from it. Yours is very pretty. Excellent colors.

She says thank you. Thank you all. She has brightened up many a foggy, cloudy day for me for many a year. Yes Tucker. For many months her bright smiles wait for you to come and enjoy.
