Arenal, great idea!

EKBotanist, I would also just keep an eye out for your orchid at Lowe's, and one just may turn up with a tag. I have seen groups of the same orchid at Lowe's, some missing tags.

That's a good idea. It took about 1 year to finally flower, it grew 1 new pseudobulb and then flowered about 5 months later give or take.

Colmanara wildcat family. Wildcat is a solid color, this one has light yellow spots on the leaves. But it is close.

Colmanara Wildcat crosses are variable and lots have a lot of spotting and barring. Colmanara Wildcat 'Lorene' looks similar to yours.

Below is a link to a photo and another photo from OrchidWiz of 'Lorene'

Pretty bloom!! It also reminds me of a Wildcat, but not sure if that actually what it is.

If it's not a Colmanara Wildcat then it's something pretty similar.

Probably can't ever be sure of an ID, I have a Wildcat very like it but don't have a cultivar name for mine. It was sold to me as 'Bobcat' but I suspect it was miss-labelled due to the yellow breaks in the flower colour like yours.

You do have the cultivar name: Bobcat! Yours is probably Colmanara Wildcat 'Bobcat'.

But it doesn't look right for Bobcat Camille Bobcat (as I remember) has solid flowers with yellow edging and yellow tint on the back. Mine has yellow 'zebra' striping with a yellow tint on the back.

Here's mine... it's very similar to Evan's at the top of this thread. Except mine doesn't have the white splash in the lip.

Colmanara Orchid in flower, similar looking to Wildcat 'Bobcat'

Mine was actually bought as Cambria 'Bobcat' without a grex name. Now I know that Cambria is not a real genus and covers a whole range of intergeneric oncidiums (including colmanara). I'm pretty certain mine is a Colmanara and I've tagged it as such. I've also tagged it as a Wildcat but I try and make sure I always make clear in postings that I'm not 100% sure. As for the 'Bobcat' bit, well if it looked more like that I would probably just tag it as Colmanara Wildcat 'Bobcat' on the basis of the label and assume it correct... it's that difference which makes that doubt.

OrchidWiz shows several photos of the 'Bobcat' cultivar that have yellow barring on the petals like yours RosieC and the more plain ones as well.
