Default Marked as Oncidium but not sure it's correct

Hi All,

I bought a new orchid yesterday and it is marked as an oncidium but it looks more like a beallara or a miltassia maybe? The flowers are large, at the widest point 5 inches. Pseudobulbs are 4" with 14" leaves. Anybody have any idea what it might be?

It's in great shape, especially considering it's from the hardware store :-)

It looks very much like the clone 'Everglades' of Beallara Tropic Splendor, which is white with very few spots, just like yours. But, I can't be positive, you know, cause there are so many hybrids out there. It is a clue anyway :-).

That beautiful plant is surely a Beallara, not Oncidium.

As for a name, you might never know for sure but that's not really important if you love the plant
I do

Thanks for all the ideas guys

It does look somewhat like the 'Everglades' of Beallara Tropic Splendor, except that the petals are not quite as white or as curly. In color it's very similar to my Odontoglossum Beallara which is what originally made me think it might be beallara.

But I'm happy to say that Djarum has found it

It's identical to the Degarmoara Winter Wonderland 'White Fairy' Orchid (Miltassia Cartagena x Odm. Gledhow). I looked at the pics online and mine is exactly like them.

Thanks again for the help, now I have to go find a perfect spot to put my new beauty!!

Degarmoara - Brassia, Miltonia and Odontoglossum - prefers intermediate to warm temps but can tolerate quite a broad range of temps.

Dgmra. Winter Wonderland is one that has been widely marketed in the big box stores.

Enjoy your plant - it's really a beauty.

But for the purists out there (moi), without a label, it's still a no id.

Well, Noid or not I'm happy to have it

Thanks for the care info

I have Brassias, Miltonias and an Odontoglossum so I'll add it to the group and it should feel right at home
