need help identifying orchid gifts
Default need help identifying orchid gifts

I received these orchids as a gift but dont know what specific kinds they are. One is a phal, but not sure on the other.

you are correct on the first; and the second picture is a red reed Epidendrum

Yes, Phaleanopsis and Epidendrum. It is rarely possible to be more specific about identifying an unknown unless it is a species or certain very distinctive hybrids.

i think the second one is an epidendrum secundum

I doubt very much that the purple is Epi. secundum. It is far more likely to be one of the ubiquitous Reedstem Epis that seem to be for sale everywhere and are completely unidentified and unidentifiable.

Those Epidendrums like lots of light and water. I couldn't keep mine watered enough so I re-homed them. They are quite beautiful when they bloom. Such cheery flowers.
