Need help identifying please
Hi, I just picked up this orchid at a very nice price but unfortunately, it was unlabeled. Can someone help me identify this plant so I can provide the proper care? Thank you very much!

Hi, The leaves definitely remind me of a zygopetalum's; however, this unidentified one has no pseudobulbs. Are there zygopetalum's without pseudobulbs?

Gage is right...that looks like a Zygopetalum by the spike and the flower form...you could have shown us the full picture of the plant so we can see the bulbs.
that plant wants to be evenly moist and water when dry(I dont know the media mix you have=bark, lava rock, charcoal or just sphagnum mix?)...if possible; avoid wetting the leaves(it can get black spots from cold droplets and cause fungus infestations)
research on this plant and find a watering/fertilizer regimen for both of you...consider your grow zone, and the humidity/temperature of the room you are putting this plant in.

It belongs in the genus Phaius. Not sure if it really is the species Phaius tankervilliae or if it is the hybrid.
Belongs to Arethuseae tribe.

Ohhh you are right! There was a sticker that said 'phai' I thought that perhaps the store labeled it incorrectly as 'phal' or something... Thank you guys very much for your help!

Sorry my mistake, it is in a different tribe entirely!
It is still in the genus Phaius.
But the tribe is Collabieae.

Apart from not getting leaves wet as Bud says, I would also make sure the bottom of the bulbs do not touch the media or must dry out very quickly or they have a tendancy of rotting quickly.
