Yes, I read that in the pets section. Your guinea pig seems to be quite the character. I'm so glad my cats have never taken any interest in my Phals. The only plant they'll go after is a Chinese hibiscus, especially the withered flowers and/or buds...
I'm joining the chorus to say that I like NOIDs! Some of my most enjoyable plants have no name. There's quite a wide spectrum of quality out there, and I see nothing wrong with purchasing what you like!
Anyway, I have a Brother Spring Dancer, and I'm attaching a photo as another data point for you, though the amount of other similar phals makes it tough. Mine is very fragrant for such a little thing- to me it smells like strong rose perfume. Does yours have a scent?
kalanoche: Aww, how cute.
I haven't even noticed that it has a smell but it does.
The problem is I don't know anything about perfumes so I can't tell you whether it resembles rose perfume or not (yes, I'm a failed member of the female part of the human race ).
Question, is your 'Brother Spring Dancer' a compact Phal or not?
Mine is compact. I guess a more general way to describe the scent would be "floral", as opposed to other scents like lemon, chocolate, etc. No failure on your part!
Then I don't think mine is a 'Brother Spring Dancer' because it's anything but compact. The spike is about 11-12" long which according to me does not make it compact.
But it has a very nice scent though so I'm glad you mentioned that your 'Brother Spring Dancer' has one.
This gave me even more reasons to love it, not only cute flowers but sweet smelling ones too.
