Possibly a Trichocentrum or (less likely) Plectrophora sp.

go back and take some more pictures...you need to show us the whole plant from its roots to the tip of the leaf and not just the flower...and how it looks in its pot or as I guess this is in situ and hanging from a tree...

Thanks, your suggestion was perfect - ID problem resolved.

Tracking each of the possible species of Trichocentrum known from Guatemala and Mexico led me to Trichocentrum candidum Lindl.. This species is known from Mexico (Chiapas), Guatemala and El Salvador.

I took the two photos at the Archila Family's Experimental Station in Cobán last year. Furthermore, I can see that it is reported to Quetzaltenango.

Interesting. Coban is one of our favorite places. We went to the orchid exposition there last year and also visited "Vivero Verapaz" (extensive orchid collection).

Is the Archila Family's station open to the public?

Yes, you pay a small entrance fee and will find an extraordinary collection. The only small "problem" is that the orchids generally are not supplied with ID, but it shouldn't stop you visiting the place. I think that the Archila place has far more rare species than I have seen elsewhere. Before you go, take a look at:
